Many World Netball (WN) Members and Regional Federations have formal and informal education & training programmes in place for umpires from grassroots to elite level.
WN’s main focus is on providing education & training opportunities for those involved in umpiring and umpire development at an international level.
At an international level, WN oversees the development and implementation of the International Umpires’ Award (IUA).
The descriptors for the Award focus on techniques including position & timing, vision, game management & protocols and the application of those techniques focusing on contact, obstruction, advantage, communication and minor infringements.
