INF President re-elected as Board Member of ARISF

The Hon. Molly Rhone, OJ, CD, has been re-elected as a member of the Board of ARISF, the Association of 37 International Sports Federations recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

Raffaele Chiulli, President of the UIM (the worldwide Federation of Powerboating) was re-elected President, unopposed, for another four-year term.

In a ground-breaking move, the ARISF General Assembly, held in Aarhus, Denmark, elected a Board of gender equity, with Molly voted in alongside Vice-President Anna Arzhanova (World Underwater Federation), Secretary General Susanne Schoedel (World Air Sports Federation), and Board Members Riccardo Fraccari (World Basketball Softball Federation) and John Liljelund (International Floorball Federation).

Molly Rhone said: “It is a great honour for me to be re-elected and I am thrilled that ARISF is leading the way in gender equality.   I believe that women are still chronically under-represented in the top levels of sports administration and I am proud to be serving an organisation which recognises the skills and talent that women can bring to driving sport forward.”

President Chiulli said:  “I am proud of the fact that the ARISF is the first, if not the only one, international sport organization to have elected a board of absolute gender equity playing a key role in the concrete implementation of the principle of gender equality, which is one of the cornerstones of the reforms by the IOC President Thomas Bach.”
