Samoa
Students in Samoa are taking their first steps into coaching, through the Oriana Coaching Development Program. With the popularity of netball growing in the country, it’s a vital way of providing competent coaches for everyone who wants to play.
The Year 10 students will take part in weekly sessions for eight weeks, with classroom lessons supported by practical netball skills. It is hoped that they will also develop important leadership and decision-making skills, which can be applied not only to their netball careers but also to their personal lives.
The program has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture, and Netball Samoa is also pleased to acknowledge their major sponsor – Samoa Stationery and Books Ltd.
