New Zealand has moved into 2nd place in the latest INF World Rankings published on 13th December 2019, with England falling to 4th position following their 3:0 series defeat in the Sunshine Series against Jamaica. Just 1 rating point separates New Zealand, Jamaica and England – things couldn’t be closer coming into a World Cup Year.
The rankings reflect matches played up until 2nd December and now include the Netball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers in Africa, the Americas and Asia, the autumn Quad Series (between Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand), the Sunshine Series, Canada vs Cayman Islands Test Series and the recent England vs Uganda series.
Uganda’s performance in the Africa Qualifiers have moved them closer to 6th placed Malawi. Whilst Sri Lanka have moved up 7 places, now 19th, to second in the Asia Region.
Congratulations to four countries that re-enter the rankings now they have played the requisite number of games in the period – St Vincent & the Grenadines (23rd), USA (33rd), Thailand (34th) and Argentina (39th). A number of teams move down the rankings as a result including Botswana (24th) Singapore (25th) Canada (26th) Malaysia (27th) Hong Kong (28th) Namibia (32nd) St Maarten (35th) Chinese Taipei (36th) Israel (37th) and Switzerland (38th).
