Namibia victorious in Quad Series

Despite being the lowest ranked side out of the four competing nations, Namibia have won the Debmarine Quad Series on goal difference in fiercely competitive competition.

The hosts got their campaign off to the perfect start with a 50-36 win over their neighbors Botswana.

21 positions separate Namibia and Zimbabwe in the INF World Rankings, however, both sides were evenly matched when they met last Sunday. The reining champions Zimbabwe, did come away with a narrow 52-51 victory in what was a thrilling contest.

With Botswana defeating Zimbabwe the next day, Namibia needed to defeat Zambia on the final day to win the championship which they did via a 54-43 scoreline.

All four sides will now be focusing on the upcoming Netball World Cup 2019 Regional Qualifier – Africa which takes place in August. If these results are any indicator, then it will be difficult to predict who will qualify for Liverpool next year.
